Precautions

WARNINGS

  • Harmful by swallowing.
  • Irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract.
  • Avoid eye contact.
  • Store away from food and feeds.
  • RE-ENTRY INTERVAL:  Do not enter treated area until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing.
  • Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Avoid inhalation of powder or spray mist.
  • Wear rubber gloves and face shield when handling the concentrate..
  • Wash after accidental skin contact.  In case of eye contact, wash with copious quantities of water.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst applying/mixing or before washing hands and face or change of clothing.
  • Avoid drift of spray mist onto other sensitive and/or edible crops, or to areas not under treatment.
  • All spray equipment should be washed thoroughly with water before using it for the application of any other pesticides.
  • Dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate other crops, grazing rivers or dams.
  • Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and NEVER use for any other purpose. Containers and packages must be completely emptied before being disposed of.  Prevent contamination of food, feed, eating utensils and drinking water.
  • Containers and packages must be completely emptied before being disposed of.  Shake out thoroughly into the mixing or spray tank.  Rinse the empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of at least 10 % of that of the container.  Add the rinsings to the spray tank before destroying the container.

  • Vermy inaseming van poeier of sproeinewel.
  • Dra rubberhandskoene en gesigskerm wanneer die middel hanteer word.
  • Was na toevallige velkontak.  In die geval van oogkontak, spoel die oë met genoegsame skoon water om die middel uit die oë te was.
  • Moenie eet, drink of rook gedurende toediening/vermenging of voordat die hande en gesig gewas is of voordat skoon klere aangetrek is nie.
  • Voorkom wegdrywing van die sproeinewel na ander sensitiewe en/of eetbare gewasse, of areas wat nie onder behandeling is nie.
  • Spuittoerusting moet deeglik met water gewas word voordat dit vir die toediening van ander  middels gebruik word.
  • Vernietig die leë houer deur gate in te maak en dit plat te druk en moet NOOIT vir enige ander doel hergebruik nie.
  • Verhoed die besoedeling van voedsel, voer, eetgerei en drink-water.
  • Houers en verpakkings moet heeltemal leeggemaak word voordat hulle vernietig word.  Skud die houer deeglik uit in die meng- of spuittenk.  Spoel die leë houer daarna driekeer uit met 'n volume water gelykstaande an 'n minimum van 10% van die inhoud van die houer.  Gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat houer vernietig word.

USE RESTRICTIONS

  • Do not use in nurseries or on nursery stock.
  • High temperatures and low or no rainfall shortly after application can have a negative influence on the effectiveness of KERB ® 500 WP.
  • Do not use on Outeniqua variety or on fine turf that is mown frequently and may thus have a poorly developed root system, such as bowling and putting greens and cricket wickets.  Damage may occur to these Cynodon surfaces.

Early Post-emergence

Apply KERB ® 500 WP for the control of Poa annua  (Winter grass) in lawn of the Cynodon type (e.g. Royal Cape, Florida, Frankenwald Fine) and Kikuyu.  Do not use on the Outeniqua varieties which may be severely damaged.

Do not use on newly sown lawns/turf.  Use only on well established lawns/turf.

TIMING OF APPLICATION:

Apply KERB ® 500 WP during winter as the chemical is more active in cool conditions, warmer conditions promote degradation and shorter residual effect.

Application of KERB ® 500 WP can be pre-or early post-emergence. 

PRE-EMERGENCE:

Pre-emergence application is preferable, it is normally more effective than post emergence.

EARLY POST- EMERGENCE:

For post-emergence KERB ® 500 WP application Poa annua grass should not be beyond the 3-5 leaf stage.  KERB ® 500 WP acts slowly on emerged Poa annua plants which may first become dark green and then gradually turn yellow and senesce over a 3-5 week period.

MOISTURE REQUIREMENT:

KERB ®  500 WP uptake is mainly by root absorption, foliar uptake is limited. It is desirable to irrigate with 12-25 mm immediately following KERB ® 500 WP application to move the chemical into the weed root zone.  Avoid initial irrigation of Created on 08/01/2008 10:33:00>25 mm to reduce the possibility of excess washing or leaching of the chemical from the area of application.

MANAGEMENT PRACTICES:

 Management Practices which influence Poa annua itself could be manipulated to contribute to the success of Poa control, including attention to watering  timing/amounts, cutting height, compaction, fertlizing etc.  Growing conditions should allow adequate growrh of the desirable lawn/turf but not be too favourable for the Poa annua.  Poa annua is more prolific and competitive under a regime of frequent light irrigations, close mowing, compaction and moist soils.

TYD VAN TOEDIENING:

Dien KERB ® 500 WP toe gedurende die winter.  Die chemikalieë is meer aktief in koel toestande, warmer toestande bevorder die afbreking van die produk en korter nawerking.van die produk.

VOOROPKOMS:

KERB ® 500 WP kan vooropkoms of vroeg na-opkoms toegedien word.  Vooropkoms toediening is aanvaarbaar, dit is normaalweg meer effektief as na opkoms.

VROEG NA-OPKOMS:

Die toedieing van KERB ® 500 WP  vroeg na-opkoms op Poa annua (Wintergras) moet nie gedoen word na die 3-5 blaarstadium nie.  KERB ® 500 WP reageer stadig op ontkiemende Poa annua  plante wat eers donkier groen verkleur en dan geleidelik geel vertoon waarna dit verlep oor ‘n tydperk van 3-5 weke.

VOG BEHOEFTE:

KERB ® 500 WP opname is hoofsaaklik  deur wortel opname, blaar opname is beperk  Dit is belangrik om besproeiïng van 12-25 mm toe te dien, onmiddelik nadat KERB ® 500WP aangewend is, om die chemikalieë na die wortelsone van die onkruid te beweeg.  Vermy aanvanklike besproeïng van meer as 25 mm om die uitwas en loging van die chemikalieë in die area van toediening te verhoed.

BESTUURSPRAKTYKE::

Bestuurspraktyke wat Poa annua  beïnvloed en wat kan bydra tot die sukses van Poa  beheer sluit in: aandag en tydsberekeining van watertoediening en hoeveelheid, snyhoogte, kompaksie en bemesting. Groei toestande moet gunstig wees vir Poa om genoegsaam te groei vir die verlangde grasperk/sportveld maar nie te gunstig wees vir Poa annua.  Poa annua is meer volop  en mededingend  onder heersende  of gereêlde ligte besproeïngs en kort gesnyde gras, kompaksie en vogtige grond.
