A SYSTEMIC EMULSIFIABLE CONCENTRATE SHRUB AND TREE KILLER.  FOR THE CONTROL OF AMERICAN BRAMBLE (RUBUS CUNEIFOLIUS), EUCALYPTUS GRANDIS, CERTAIN ACACIA SPECIES AND OTHER INVADER PLANTS AS LISTED FOR THE HOME GARDEN.

Precautions

WARNINGS

  • Poisonous by swallowing.
  • Concentrate may cause skin and eye irritation.
  • Store in a cool place.
  • Store away from food, feed, seed, other agricultural chemicals and out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Wear protective gloves and clothing when handling the concentrate. 
  • Do not inhale fumes, dust or spray mist.
  • Wash contaminated clothing daily.
  • Wash with soap and water after accidental skin contact.
  • In case of eye contact, flush eyes with clean water.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst applying, mixing, before washing hands and face and change of clothing.
  • Prevent drift onto other sensitive plants or fishponds.
  • Clean applicator before using with other material - dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate food, grazing, rivers or dams.
  • Rinse empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10% of that of the container.  Add the rinse water to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container.
  • Destroy empty container and NEVER use for any other purpose.
  • Prevent contamination of food, feed, drinking water and eating utensils.

VOORSORGMAATREëLS

  • Dra beskermende handskoene wanneer die konsentraat hanteer word.
  • Moenie dampe of sproeireën inasem nie.
  • Was besoedelde klere daagliks.
  • Was onmiddellik met seep en water indien per ongeluk met die vel in aanraking kom.
  • Vermy aanraking met die oë.  In geval van oogkontak, spoel oë met skoon water.
  • Moenie eet, drink of rook tydens vermenging en toediening en alvorens hande en gesig gewas en skoon klere aangetrek is nie.
  • Verhoed spuitstofwegdrywing na ander gevoelige plante of visdamme.
  • Om beskadiging van gewenste plante te voorkom moet houers en spuittoerusting wat gebruik is, deeglik skoongemaak word voor toediening van ander middels op sulke plante. 
  • Gooi was- en spoelwater uit waar dit nie gewasse, weiding, riviere en damme sal besoedel nie.
  • Spoel leë houer driekeer uit met 'n volume water gelykstaande aan 'n minimum van 10% van die houer.  Gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat die houer vernietig word.
  • Vernietig leë houer deur gate daarin te maak en dit plat te druk en moet nie vir enige ander doel gebruik nie.
  • Voorkom besoedeling van voedselware, voer, drinkwater en eetgerei.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

MIXING

  • Half fill the spray tank with water and add the required quantity of GARLON 4.

APPLICATION

  • GARLON 4 should be applied only as a foliar and/or cut stump application.
  • Do not apply if rain is possible within 2 hours.
  • Avoid spray drift onto non-target plants.

A.   FOLIAR APPLICATION

  • Use only on actively growing plants with full leaf cover.
  • Apply as a full cover spray to leaves and stems.
  • Do not apply to wet foliage.
  • Use a suitable garden sprayer that will ensure an even coverage.

B.   CUT STUMP

  • Apply according to directions for cut stumps in the table below.

CUT STUMP (Clear felling)  Apply herbicide mixture on the day of felling (within 12 hours) to the cambial region (sapwood) of the cut surfaces until the point of run off with a brush or sprayer.

 

Coppiced Stumps (NB When coppice is between 500 mm and 1,0 m in height).  Apply to leaves and stems ensuring a thorough wetting.

Foliar

On young actively growing plants up to 1,0 m in height spray leaves and stems thoroughly.  Plants higher than 1,0 m should be slashed and regrowth sprayed when ± 500 mm high.

 

Basal stem.  Ensure wetting of all bark of root crown and stem up to a height of 0,5 m.

VERMENGING

  • Vul die spuittenk halfvol met water en voeg die benodigde hoeveelheid GARLON 4 by.

TOEDIENING 

  • GARLON 4 moet slegs toegedien word as 'n volle dekbespuiting van loof of as 'n gekapte stompbespuiting.
  • Moet nie toegedien word indien reën binne 2 uur moontlik is nie.
  • Verhoed spuitstofwegdrywing na gewenste plante.

A.        LOOFTOEDIENING

  • Wend slegs aan wanneer plante volle drag blare het en aktief groei.
  • Moet nie toegedien word wanneer blare nat is nie.
  • Gebruik 'n geskikte tuinspuit wat 'n goeie eweredige benatting sal gee.

B.        GEKAPTE STOMPBESPUITING

  • Dien toe volgens aanwysings vir gekapte stompbespuiting in tabel hieronder.

GEKAPTE STOMPBESPUITING (Kaal Kap).  Dien onkruiddoder-mengsel op kambium gedeelte (spinthout) toe op dieselfde dag as wat gekap word (binne 12 uur).  Benat gekapte oppervlak met 'n spuit of kwas totdat afloop plaasvind.

 

HERGROEI VANAF GEKAPTE STOMPE (LW wanneer hergroei tussen 500 mm en 1,0 meter hoog is).  Dien toe op loof en stamme en verseker deeglike benatting.

Op jong aktief groeiende plante wat tot en met 1,0 meter hoog is, spuit die blare en stam deeglik nat.  Plante hoër as 1,0 meter moet eers gekap word.  Hergroei word gespuit wanneer dit ± 500 mm hoog is.

 

Stambehandeling:  Bespuit of wend met 'n kwas aan die stam, bas en wortels tot 'n hoogte van 0,5 m.
