| Q: | Why are my peaches full of maggots when they ripen? |
| A: | Your peaches are being stung by fruit fly which lay their eggs on peaches, apricots, plums and numerous other fruits. Tiny worms then hatch and feast on the fruit as it ripens.
New ECO FRUIT FLY BAIT is an organic bait for the specific control of fruit fly. Dissolve 100ml of ECO FRUIT FLY BAIT in 400ml of water. Apply 60ml (approximately 60 droplets) of this bait mixture per tree to the stem or underside of leaves. This bait only kills fruit flies. Start applying before the formation of any fruit. Repeat very 14 days |

| Q: | Our lawn has developed ‘dead’ spots the size of a fish plate and are brown with no growth. The blades from the roots up are dead and dry there’s no sign of ants or crickets. What do you suggest? |
| A: | It sounds like brown patch or fading out disease – a problem caused by fungi in warm, humid conditions. Spray the lawn with EFEKTO BRAVO 720. In severe cases, apply 50ml in 10 litres water /100m², twice within seven days. Thereafter, apply 50ml in 10 litres water every seven days and repeat the applications until the brown patch disappears. |

| Q: | Our lawn is infested with small weeds that have a clover leaf and yellow flowers – is there an effective product that will control the weed but will not damage the lawn? |
| A: | Yes, you can use EFEKTO HORMOBAN and if sprayed according to the recommendations on the label nothing will happen to the lawn but the weeds will die. |
| Q: | We have moved into a new house and planted kikuyu lawn in rows but a lot of unwanted weeds are also growing between the rows. Can these weeds be controlled with a weedkiller product or must we remove these weeds by hand? |
| A: | You can spray with EFEKTO BANWEED that will not damage the new lawn. |
| Q: | Why is my kikuyu lawn yellowing in patches? |
| A: | If patches occur in summer, it is likely to be an infestation of lawn caterpillars. Leave a wet towel overnight on the lawn. If caterpillars are present, you will find them under the towel the next morning. Apply WONDER 4:1:1(21) with Carbaryl or dissolve 45g of EFEKTO KARBASPRAY in 10 litres of water and spray the mixture over 200m². Treat the total lawn area every 14-28 days. EFEKTO ECO Insect Control as a natural product can also be used. |

| Q: | As soon as the flowers of my Chrysanthemums open they have damage marks on the petals. What is the problem? |

| Q: | I have a severe whitefly problem. Can you help? |
| A: | Apply EFEKTO WHITEFLY INSECTICIDE as soon as the first adults appear. It is important to wet the undersides of the leaves to prevent the immobile nymphs from reaching maturity. Adults will still be present for up to 21 days. Alternatively, use EFEKTO PREV-GARD, a product from the EFEKTO NATURALS range. |

| Q: | My indigenous tree fuchsia has rust, mainly on the underside, but occasionally on the upper side of its leaves. What can I do? |
| A: | Your tree is probably infected with red spider mite not rust. To treat red spider mite, apply EFEKTO REDSPIDERCIDE (20ml / 10 litres water), repeating the application after six weeks. Wet the undersides of leaves well. An excellent natural alternative is EFEKTO RAPE OIL INSECTICIDE EFEKTO VIRIKOP (50g dissolved in 10 litres of water) and repeat every 7-14 days. Repeat spraying until all the new growth remains clean. If symptoms of the disease reappear, start the whole process again. Use a strong garden sprayer (like the HOZELOCK sprayers) to make sure you cover the upper sides and undersides of all the leaves. Add G-49 to the mixtures to ensure thorough wetting of the leaves. |
