Efekto was acquired by Ifula Holdings (Pty) Ltd on 1 July 2004, thus ensuring that Efekto effectively
became an empowerment company.
The effective empowerment shareholding of Ifula is 74%, thus indirectly this shareholding translates
to an effective 56% empowerment shareholding in Agro-Serve (Pty) Ltd (Efekto), as the Efekto Mgmt Share
Trust owns 24% of Efekto.
Unique Empowerment distribution
Efekto's nationwide customer base has become accustomed to Efekto's reliant and prompt, efficient distribution service.
This critical aspect of our business is contracted out to self employed drivers. Efekto's
distribution team own their delivery vehicles and contract their services to our business.
Efekto has thus succeeded in creating self employed empowerment partners. Each vehicle has
an owner driver as well as 3 assistants.
This unique business model now ensures that Efekto has top-to-bottom empowerment credentials i.e.
ownership of the company all the way through to empowerment of the distribution function.
